Tom Coles

Residency at National Institute of Design (NID)

My name is Tom Coles

I am 28 years old

I am nearly 6ft tall

Originally I am from Weston-super-Mare, now I live and work in Manchester

I went to Manchester Metropolitan University where I studied Ba(hons) 3D Design. I graduated in 2001

I play the drums. My dad bought me my first drum kit for Christmas when I was 11 years old, it was a special day

When I was young I wanted to be an architect like my dad. I was good at drawing houses and used to practice a lot

I go surfing as often as possible. I ride a 9ft 6inch, single fin long board. Surfing runs through my veins. My grandad, Arthur Coles first took his young family to North Cornwall in the early 1970's. He would ride surf-boards that he made from materials borrowed from the helicopter factory where he worked

I work as a 3D Designer for a company called 24. Graham and I set up 24 in 2001. It has been very hard work building the business into what it is today

I have two older brothers Tobin and Ben, and a younger sister called Gabriella

I prefer to listen to cricket on the radio than watch it on television
