Two Laundry Workers
These are hospital blankets - laundered and pressed, waiting to be returned to the wards. I asked the women to pose, in fact I piled the blankets up for the picture. It was the first time I constructed what was a documentary photohraph..... I thought it was alright to do this as I'm an artist... and artists can 'play' around and interfere with their subject. I spent the next two years thinking about representation..... I've got over it now.
