When we stayed on the Isle of Bute for the last Design Transformation Group conference, I became fascinated with the form of the beehives, because before attending, I had been devising a small object called a rubifier. Though never completed, it was my first attempt to create an object that was true to function, though constructed for the unfathomable function of alchemy.
