Mary Watson was shipwrecked after being attacked by aborigines for camping on a sacred site. She escaped in a tub, and was eventually shipwrecked on an island, where she died. She kept a diary, and Steve used some text from her diary to create a print for one of his plates. His plates do sometimes crack during firing, however never in two pieces. For some reason, the plate with Mary Watson's writing cracked in two places, not once, but twice. Steve is considering whether to make a third plate.
