The HAT Project 2006/07 is supporting 20 exchange fellowships between England, South Asia and Australia

Material Response: a HAT child

After a period of reflection and diversion (both Jeremy and Barney have been initiating and delivering the first British Ceramics Biennial in Stoke-on-Trent), a further development of the HAT model is about to be launched.

Material Response has been created as a new residency programme in partnership with Museums in the East and North West of England, based within the MLA Cultural Olympiad programme and the regional Renaissance HUBS as a part of Stories of the World. Participating artists will be involved in residencies both in the Uk and abroad, and links with exchanging artists will be strengthened. The Museums will then work with the artists to open up access by diaspora communities to the relevant parts of their collections. We will continue to use this website as a common ground for news and information about each element of the programme, as well as providing links to each partner's own site.

Please keep an eye out for future possibilities for residencies as they come up: we will be placing a full timetable on the HAT site shortly.
